Wegovy is a weight loss medicine that can help to regulate your appetite and reduce cravings. It can be a very effective medicine to achieve sustained weight loss when used alongside a reduced calorie diet, increased physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices. An injection you give yourself just once a week (subject to clinical suitability), it’s quick and easy to use. Wegovy can be prescribed for adults with a BMI over 30, or a BMI over 27 with weight-related conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease or sleep apnoea. You should not use Wegovy if you’re pregnant and should stop treatment at least two months before trying to get pregnant. If you become pregnant while taking Wegovy, stop using it immediately and talk to your GP or midwife. Wegovy must be kept in the fridge (with a temperature between 2°C and 8°C) before first use. Once you start using the pen, you can keep it for 6 weeks either at room temperature (below 30°C) or in a fridge (with a temperature between 2°C and 8°C). Do not freeze Wegovy. There may be a slight delay in receiving this order as you will need to complete an online questionnaire once you have checked out. The questionnaire will be sent to the practitioner. The questionnaire will require the patients weight, height, BMI, the start weight of patient and current weight. If any details in the questionnaire is omitted, this will cause a further delay. This questionnaire is designed to ensure the patient is suitable to have treatment.
