Mounjaro® (tirzepatide) is a once-weekly injectable medication used for weight management under clinical supervision. It works by activating two key hormones—GLP-1 and GIP receptors—which help regulate blood sugar levels, slow digestion, and reduce appetite.

How Mounjaro Works

Tirzepatide mimics the effects of naturally occurring hormones involved in glucose control and appetite regulation. It helps:

Dosage & Administration

• Inject once weekly under the skin (subcutaneous use) in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm.

• Start with 2.5 mg once weekly for the first 4 weeks, then increase as advised by your prescriber.

• Always use exactly as prescribed. Do not adjust your dose without consulting your clinician.

Who Can Use Mounjaro

Mounjaro is suitable for adults:

• With type 2 diabetes to improve blood sugar control, or

• Under clinical assessment for weight management, where prescribed as part of a structured medical programme that includes diet and physical activity.

Possible Side Effects

Common side effects include:

• Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, or constipation

• Decreased appetite

• Fatigue or mild injection site reactions

Storage

• Store in a refrigerator (2°C–8°C).

• May be kept at room temperature (below 30°C) for up to 21 days.
